When and how did you start making lofi beats?
In 2012, I became interested in rap music and recorded by writing lyrics. In the first years that I started rap, I realized that I had to make my own beats and started learning FL Studio. At the end of 6 months, I made the first beat that I felt. In the first years I started beatmaking, I made 90's boom bap beats to match the songs I wrote lyrics. Until 2019, I produced works in boom bap, and in 2019 I focused entirely on the lofi beats genre. The SP-404 OG, which I bought in 2020, was a turning point for me. In the last 3 years, my life, work and everything has been completely lofi! Of course, I continue to reflect the boom bap vibe of my first years of beatmaking in my current beats.
What inspires you the most?
Moon and Night
If you could go back in time, what year would you like to go to and what would you like to be able to tell yourself?
I could go back to 2012, the year when everything about beatmaking and hip-hop started for me. And I would say to myself: "buy an Akai MPC". I would give myself some money and get an MPC.
What is the story of "No I'm Not"?
Combining a sample I enjoy with a skit from a movie I enjoy. That was the starting point of the story, and I thought the vibes of both fit together.
What is the main emotion you feel in "No I'm Not"?
Passion
